ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University
Located in the South-West part of the Lucknow City, Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University [RMLNLU] has 40 acres of sprawling campus in LDA’s Kanpur Road Scheme. The University was established through the U.P. Act No.28 of 2005 and came into being on 4th of January 2006 to meet up with the new challenges in legal field.
RMLNLU is committed to provide excellent infrastructural facilities and environment to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and legal process and to develop in the students and research scholars a sense of responsibilities to serve the society in the field of law by developing skills in advocacy, judicial and other legal services and legislation and the like.
RMLNLU has not been just a centre of learning but a home that has nurtured the aspirations of hundreds of students, provided them numerous opportunities and opened up newer arenas for academicians to explore and excel in. The sprawling campus provides for a favourable environment that facilitates both academics and recreation. The University has taken steps to promote legal studies for national development and built a sense of servitude in the hearts and minds of the students, to make the law and legal process an efficient instrument of social development.

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Legal Aid Committee
The Legal Aid Committee of RMLNLU was set up in 2009, with its motto being seva hi dharm. The committee since then in its pursue of supporting its motto has undertaken projects for the same.
The vision of the committee is to promote legal as well as social awareness among the section of society that needs it the most. In an attempt to further our cause we have the Legal Aid Clinic which exclusively deals with helping the people in need find legal solutions to their grievances. The students who are a part of the clinic are known as the para legal volunteers and are given training to deal with such situations and to offer the best possible advice. The committee also engages in conducting awareness sessions in villages to educate people about their legal rights.
The committee also handles the ADR cell of the college and organises the intra university competitions for it. RMLNLU NMC, the oldest ADR competition of South Asia is also organised by the LAC.
